Lansing Correctional Facility

Green Team Lansing Correctional Facility is an excellent group for demonstrating how the attitude should be displayed. We have both staff and inmates interested in the program and most days I receive ideas or thoughts on how we could improve at Lansing or ideas that are being used at home by staff. This has been great for the facility, the state and our planet.

Where: 

Paper and Cardboard Retriever Bins are located at Dock Three, Tower 6 Control, Turn Out Gate, Work Detail Bus Lot, East Unit

When: 

We have been hauling our cardboard to the county transfer station since 2005, Safety Kleen has been picking up or used oil and oil filters since1983. We should have our complete paper recycling program running prior to 12-31-07. We currently have one paper retriever set up on our perimeter and are awaiting the delivery of one more for office use.

What: 

Cardboard, sealed lead acid batteries, batteries, oil, antifreeze, tires, car batteries, any volunteer paper from the job site or from home.
